Biting the hand(American Idol) that feeds you(Viewers).

No matter what method of success one obtains, there will always be the people who hate you for it. One of the best blogger examples has to be John Chow being banned from Digg or being known as the Root of all evil.

But today I am talking about American Idol. For anyone who has been watching American Idol this season, they know that Sanjaya Malakar is by far the worst contestant on the show, but for some reason he always gets voted through.

How can this be when the idea of the show is to vote for the best and eliminate the worst?

The reason is a movement called Votefortheworst.com. The mission of this movement is to vote for the worst contestant because they think American Idols methods to pick the best are flawed. So basically, because American Idol isn’t run their way, they are trying to screw over the show.

It goes back to that saying “Don’t bite the hand that feed’s you.” They are slowly bitting at American Idol and if they start bitting too hard, the creditability of the shows results will be undermined and the show will become a joke.

So, for the people who are taking the time to vote for the worst contestant, what is your motivation? Why would you want to make a show that picks bad singers? By voting for the worst, it is essentially destroying the show that keeps you so interested in the first place.

Life is not fair and any contest will always be unfair to someone. The truth of the matter is that even though all of the best contestants don’t make it through American Idol, Idol is still highlighting awesome talent like Kelly Clarkson and Carey Underwood.

So I would have to say their system does work, so people need to stop messing with the voting results!

Say NO to Votefortheworst.com.
